Tatsumi Akinobu (TA2MI) is a Jodo Shinshuu Buddhist monk from the countryside outside the city of Kumamoto in the South of Japan. As featured in the globally successful film KanZeOn, he is also a multi-talented musician – in addition to his skills as a battle DJ and beatboxer presented in the film, the release of Travel Through Worlds marks his debut as a producer. Showing exceptional attention to detail with both synthetic and natural sounds, the album is an absorbing journey through electronic musical genres.

Tatsumi Akinobu (TA2MI) は浄土真宗の僧 - 日本の南にある,熊本県、市外地出身の僧侶。世界的に成功した映画KanZeOnでも紹介された彼は、僧侶のほか、マルチ才能のあるミュージシャンである - 映画にも映し出されてるように、バトルDJやビートボクサーとしてのスキルに加えて、’Travel Through Worlds’がプロデューサーとしてデビューをマーク。合成および自然、両方の音で特殊かつ繊細に表現された独自音、ジャンル枠にとらわれず電子音楽を通じて面白く、旅のような曲相を制作する。

The release of two introductory tracks, Land of Ice and Grapevine Asia, prior to the full album gives some indication of the diversity of styles that TA2MI is able to wield in creating his own unique musical identity. Land of Ice seamlessly cycles through at least 5 genres within the space of 4 minutes, to exhilarating effect. Grapevine Asia might just have people punching the air on the dancefloor, sounding like a euphoric hybrid of Yellow Magic Orchestra and Rhythm & Sound.
